Descriere

Conform legendei, pastorul de capre Kaldi a descoperit cafeaua in secolul 9, in Etiopia, dupa ce a obseravt efectul energizant pe care planta il avea asupra turmei sale, dar povestea nu a aparut in scris decat in 1671 si este probabil apocrifa.

Accoreding to legend, the 9th century goatherder Kaldi discovered the coffee plant in Ethiopia after noticing the energizing effect the plant had on his flock, but the story did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably apocryphal. Kaldi, noticing that when his flock nibbled on the bright red berries of a certain bush they became more energetic (jumping goats), chewed on the fruit himself. His exhilaration prompted him to bring the berries to an Islamic holly man in a nearby monastery. But the holy man disapproved of their use and threw them into a fire, from which an enticing aroma billowed. The roasted beans were quickly raked from the embers, ground up and dissolved in hot water, yelding the wold's first cup of coffee.

"Ethyopia Sidamo" is a type of Arabica coffee of single origin grown exclusively in the Sidamo Province of Ethyopia. Like most Arfican coffees, Ethyopia Sidamo features a small greyish bean, yet is valued for it's deep, spice and wine or chocolate-like taste and floral aroma.

The most distinctive flavour notes found in all Sidamo coffees are lemon and citrus, with bright crisp acidity. Sidamo coffee includes Yirgachefe Coffee and Guji Coffee. Both coffee types are very high quality.
